- The Big Window feature from The Second Age was given to all players
in token of our appreciation, and as part of the celebration of Ultima
Online's first year of existence.
- Paperdoll glitches should be resolved.
- Some draw ordering problems should be resolved.

- "Paperdoll lag" was resolved.
- Combat automove was removed.
- Chopping up corpses results in a pile of remains that still obeys the
reputation rules for looting.
- The Fame requirement for order/chaos guilds was removed.
- Learning skills by watching was removed.
- Explosion potions no longer set off other explosion potions.

- Numerous exploits were fixed.
- Strong measures were put in place against 3rd party programs.
- A limit was imposed on number of items in the bank box.
- All items gained height, and now stack vertically up to a certain point.
- The healing and vet skills were completely revamped.
- Drinking potions while holding bows became impossible.
- The detect hidden skill was totally revamped.
- It stopped being possible to gate creatures.
- Many more creatures became spellcasters, and they became smart enough to
dispel summoned enemies.
- A spam limiter was put in place.
- Numerous other fixes also went in.

- Poisoning weapons will no longer pile up empty bottles at your feet.
- As a side effect of the above, the latest poisoning code went in as well.
This means that problems with the success rate in making poisons are
fixed.

- All guild functions were optimized to improve server performance.
- You will no longer be blocked for a week from changing your abbreviation
or guild name if your change is denied.
- Guilds now use a text entry window instead of taking text from the
regular prompt, in order to reduce accidental entry of conversation.

- The reputation system was installed.
- Innocents appear blue, criminals gray, and murderers red.
- You can now configure color highlighting in your UO.CFG.
- Guild warfare went in.
- Order and chaos guilds were created for free-for-all warfare.
- Creature loot was updated.
- A few other guild things were changed.

This update listing includes the contents of the mini-patch that went in on
4/20/98.
- The items vendors can make not-for-sale was restricted.
- Repairing items gained a wear-and-tear effect.
- A new table of stat dependencies for skills made all three stats go up
at comparable rates.
- A new guildstone interface was put in place.
- There are now five levels of poison, and many creatures gained poison
attacks.
- Spellbooks became equippable.
- Hiding while fighting was removed.

- The problem with certain skills atrophying faster than others was improved.
- The problems with target highlighting should be resolved.
- You will no longer be able to recall while overloaded.
- The dungeon populations were revamped to give each dungeon more of
a 'theme.'
- Some methods of breaking into houses were fixed.
- A new UO.CFG option to toggle automatic pathfinding.
- Container capacity was reduced by weight, and there is now also a
container capacity limit based on number of items.

- The friends list was temporarily disabled.
- It now takes full mana to use scrolls.
- The mage will be frozen in place whilst casting.
- There will be a chance of the casting aborting if the mage is struck
during his casting process.
- Spell damage has been revised.
- The algorithm for selecting which skills to atrophy changed from
a random skill, to your least-used skills.
- The advancement curve for skills was made easier for newbies and a lot
tougher for adepts and up.
- The various "hello" words used to attract NPC attention have been
disabled in favor of having to use the NPC's name.

- Santa appeared in the game.

- A circle of transparency around you was added.
The AllNames macro was added and names were made targetable.
- The delay on character deletion was changed to seven days.
- An across the board revision was done to spell damages.
- Stat and skill advancement for fighting other players were
drastically reduced.
- Bounty hunting was added.
- Damage modifiers by armor type were removed.
- Combat was made slower.
- Pack horses and pack llamas were added.
- The city of Wind reopened.

This patch brings your client to version 1.25.16.
- This patch was accompanied by wiping all characters' notorieties.
- The NotorietyQuery window was added.
- The harbormaster for drydocking ships was added.
- Escort quests were added.
- The healers and shrines of Britannia began resurrecting only those whose notorieties matched their preferences.

- A general upgrading of creature difficulty.
- Added "AllNames" macro, that lets you bring up the names of
everyone on screen instantly.
- There are now four damage types: direct (ignores armor), physical, fire,
and energy.

- The behavior of the "Call GM" button has changed.
- Ships and houses now put a duplicate key in your safety deposit box.
- Target cancelling moved to the ESC key, instead of right-click.
- Targeting highlighting changed to be red, blue, or gray.
- Safety deposit boxes were added.
- Healing and recovery rates were made highly dependent on the fullness of
your character's stomach.
- The "criminal flag" was added.
- Herds of deer, flocks of sheep, herds of cows, packs of timber wolves,
and small packs of undead started roaming the land.
- Evil mage towers that take prisoners for necromantic rites appeared.
- Gypsy camps and brigand camps appeared.
- You became able to rescue prisoners and escort them back to the
location they request, for a reward.

Hireling stats were revised.
A message in the lower left corner of your screen when you cross
into and out of justice regions was added.
Items you can move highlight under your regular cursor.
Target highlighting when in combat turned targets red.
The first stages of weather were added!

- Chess, checkers, backgammon, and dice sets were added.
- Hirelings destroy their equipment on death.
- A new pet command, "transfer," was added.
- Stabling pets was added.
- When clicking on someone, their name appears red, gray, or blue, depending on notoriety.
- Numerous economic tweaks were made.
- Orcs, trolls, ettins, lizardmen, ratmen, orc captains, harpies, liches, mongba
ts, headless, and daemons all began to loot.
- Scrolls began to cost mana.

- The variety of treasure in creature inventories has been increased, including higher circle spell availability.
- The skill advancement curve has been adjusted to make it harder to advance the higher you go.
