On November 6, 2007, the following was published:
  • Monsters will spawn stronger/weaker according to how quickly the invasion is handled
  • Players can now resign chain quests that have them delivering items.
  • Greater delay between fire attacks by the invading monsters
  • Fixed an issue that could cause too many monsters to spawn
  • Plants are now affected by the fire as well
  • Invading imps will be red instead of green
  • Due to their overwhelming deadliness, removed the hostile invading rabbits. Hellcats will spawn instead
  • Removed misplaced tile of foliage near the moongate

On October 17, 2007, the following was published:
  • Gareth, the quest giver for the Cloak of Humility quest, was relocated to Trinsic
  • Players that are logged in Magencia will be teleported safely to the Trinsic docks of their facet
  • Players will be unable to gate, recall, or Sacred Journey to Magincia
  • Fixed issue that caused the virtue set helm to reset its resists to the base values when the full suit was being worn.
  • Fixed the bug where certain stealable items could not be locked down causing players to lose these items (Doom Artifacts)
  • Fixed an issue where players were getting IGR timer errors and getting disconnected
  • Players with bushido skill should now be able to bond with lesser hiryus.
  • Added double dragon scale resources in Felucca. Siege ruleset shards do not benefit from this change.
  • Oil cloth should now properly remove poison from weapons
  • Newly spawned quest mobs can no longer be charmed with the dryad allure spell.
  • Made the event-related firefields do more damage 5-7 instead of 3 damage
  • Trick or Treating is back!
  • Pumpkins are once again spawning in patches all over Britannia
  • Boats abandoned in Magincia will randomly catch fire and sink if no one is around

  • You will get less credit towards the new dungeon drops if you are hidden when the monster you are fighting dies.
  • You will get no credit if you are more than 16 tiles away from the monster when it dies.
  • Fixed an issue where Virtue Armor set pieces could have negative resists once unequipped
  • The Virtue Armor set self-repair bonus is now 5, rather than 20

  • Infecting Strike and Serpent Arrow will now cause a slight karma loss when successfully poisoning a victim with these special maneuvers.

  • Fixed bug that caused cure potions to fail more often when used with high Enhance Potions

On May 11, 2007, the following was published:

General Updates:
  • Changed skill and mana requirements for the following ninja skills:
    • Focus Attack: Min Skill now 30. Mana Cost now 10.
    • Surprise Attack: Min Skill now 60
    • Backstab: Min Skill now 40.
    • Mirror Image: Min Skill now 20.
  • Changed minimum Hiding requirement for Stealth from 50 to 30
  • Spells that debuff a target such as Clumsy, Weaken, Curse, Mind Rot, etc. will now have a better chance to raise Resisting Spells skill at lower skill level
  • The Monks have returned to the Yew Winery to sell Monk Robes
  • SIEGE PERILOUS SHARDS ONLY: The bonus to resists for exceptional armor creation on Siege Perilous and Mugen is 1% for every 12.5 points of Arm Lore. Maximum of 8% bonus resists (at Grandmaster Arms Lore).
New Haven Updates:
  • Added several new NPE Quests:
    • Tracking
    • Archery
    • Ninjitsu
    • Fencing
    • Hiding
    • Stealth
    • Mining
    • Tinkering
    • Blacksmithy
  • Rewards from the New Player quests have had their power adjusted. This change will apply to existing items as well as new items.
  • The mayor of New Haven, Amser, will now appear in New Haven. She will tell the player character about the town
  • Added animal and mongbat spawns in Haven forests
  • Hamato, the Bushido instructor, will now buy and sell Bushido spellbooks.
  • The accelerated gain area spam has been replaced by a sound effect and a buff icon
  • Undead spawn in Old Haven has been increased and the difficulty adjusted
  • More Healers wander in Old Haven and the surrounding forests
  • Brigand camps have been spotted on the isle!
  • Lyle and Sadrah have survived the disaster and returned to New Haven
  • Shops in New Haven have hung their signs
  • Escort quests are now available in New Haven
Bug Fixes:
  • Players should no longer be able to complete a quest and get the quest reward if the item cannot be put in their backpack.
  • Soulstones cannot be used by a player who is currently undergoing one or more New Player skill quests.
  • Skills cannot be purchased while under the effects of an accelerated skillgain scroll or NPE quest
  • Churchill is no longer a Mystic Llamaherder
  • The “Young Player Teleport” will now drop live players in the center of New Haven and dead players in the New Haven Healer Shop
  • Broken Haven Level 0 Treasure Map locations have been fixed.
  • Crafting items with Carpentry and Fletching Runic tools and special wood should give the correct result
  • New Player Quest reward items will no longer be blessed on Mugen
  • Spinning wheels and other interactable objects in New Haven will work properly

  • Mysterious traders have appeared in Haven:
    • Traders in dark robes will walk around Haven and give rewards for blackrock
      • Players can trade blackrock by dragging it on the traders to get a random reward
      • Each type of blackrock gives a different chance at a reward
        • The more rare types will tend to give better rewards
    • Traders do not stay in one location for long
  • Blackrock mining at the "Motherlode" locations is turned off
  • The difficulty of mining blackrock in normal locations have been increased
  • Necromancy may now be used instead of Magery when trying to cast Armageddon

  • Valentine's Day content:
    • Characters more than 30 days old will receive a Red Velvet Box containing the following:
      • Rose in a Vase – the flower is dyeable with a furniture dye tub (blessed)
      • 10 Valentine’s Day Cards (blessed)
        • Come in 5 different sayings
        • Players double-click card and target a player of their choice to fill in the appropriate names
        • Each card can only be used once
    • If there isn't room in the bank or backpack for the gift container, the player will receive a message to make room and log in again.

On Friday, February 2, 2007 the following was published:

  • Event content:
    • The nether energy suffusing the dungeons has begun to fade, reducing the dispelling abilities of affected dungeon creatures somewhat.
    • Creatures in Wind will no longer drop Books of Truth (Wind is not a Dungeon of Anti-Virtue and was not intended to be included)
    • Increased the drop sound radius from 8 to 12 tiles
    • The Book of Truth drop rate in Felucca has been decreased slightly to account for the increased fame given by monsters on that facet.

On Thursday, January 18, 2006 the following was published:

  • Fixed an issue that was causing Gingerbread houses to sometimes get destroyed after being axed or from customizing the in which house they were placed. NOTE: this does NOT fix currently placed Gingerbread houses.
  • Characters 30 days or older will receive an extra holiday stocking with a deed for a Gingerbread house until Feb. 1st.
  • The motherlode skill gain feature has been turned off. You can still get blackrock from mining in the motherlode regions, but the enhanced energy of the area has faded.
  • Catskills downtime gifts will no longer be given out
  • Trial of Ricardo no longer stops running part way through
  • Fixed incorrect skill use text used by Lady Melisande
  • Added four new quest giver npcs in the Lycaeum for this week's event

On Thursday, December 21, 2006 the following was published:

  • A rare server crash has been fixed
  • Characters on Catskills that were affected by last week's extended downtime will recieve a Spring Décor token upon login
  • Tree trunks now have the same tool-tip as Heritage trees in the selection menu
  • Lanterns such as the Twilight Lantern will no longer drop to the ground when turned on while equipped
  • Turned off 2005 holiday gifts
  • 2006 holiday items will be given to characters at least 30 days old:
    • Stocking
    • Holiday Card
    • Snow Pile
      • To throw a snowball at another player, double-click the snow pile and target a player. Only players who have a snow pile in their backpack can be targeted in this manner. You will receive a message if the targeted player is not a valid target.
      • There is a delay as to how often you can throw a snowball from the snow pile.
      • The snow piles have unlimited uses.
    • Gingerbread House deed
    • 3-5 Candy Canes
    • 2-3 Gingerbread Cookies
    • 1 Gingerbread Cookie Recipe Scroll (ML only)
  • 2006 holiday items will be handed out until Jan 15, 2007

  • Peaches picked from the Heritage Peach Tree will now stack with other peaches
  • Personal attendants will no longer lose their clothing after passing through a moongate
  • Fixed an issue that was causing arcane clothing charges to be used when the player had the required reagents
  • Fixed an exploit with aquariums
  • Fixed an exploit with Character Statues

  • Anniversary gift for all characters 30 days or older consisting of:
    • 9th anniversary coin
    • Gift box containing a random piece of crystal or shadow furniture
  • Updated ladders to allow players to get down from keep rooftops
  • Fixed an exploit with the Iron Maiden and Guillotine
  • Heritage Tree trunks will no longer lose their "blessed" tag after being re-deeded
  • Slightly reduced the difficulty of the Halloween graveyard spawns
  • Added new Halloween pumpkins
  • The Grim Reaper will now return to his graveyard if he teleports into a justice region
  • The Grim Reapers will now teleport back to his graveyard once he gets down to 33% of his health
  • Other monsters will now ignore the Grim Reaper
  • Pets will no longer become uncontrollable if their target leaves the area
  • The Heritage Ladder will let you choose between two types of ladders:
    • Castle/Keep Ladder - can only be placed by house owner
    • Regular Ladder

On Monday, October 30, 2006 the following was published:

  • An issue where your evil twin would get you guardwhacked has been fixed
  • Evil twin will now disappear if it fails to reveal its victim
  • Once the Grim Reaper kills a target or if his target is dead, he will go back to his graveyard
  • If the victim or the Grim Reaper enters a house he will go back to his graveyard
  • The Grim Reaper will now give a random top attacker an artifact, not just the player who does the most damage
  • Added a 50/50 chance of either spawning a black statuette or an orange statuette
  • 9th anniversary beverages will no longer lose their names, and existing ones will have been fixed as well
  • An issue that caused Halloween invasions to be too easy has been fixed
  • Added dead trees into the selection of the heritage items

  New Veteran Rewards Aug 23 2006 9:05PM CST  
In appreciation for our long-term players, Ultima Online currently offers a number of Veteran Reward gift items that you can’t get anywhere else in the game. The more months a UO game account remains active, the more gifts that account can claim. There are currently multiple vet reward sets for 1 through 5 year veterans of UO. We are in the process of adding a new choice for year 1 vets, as well as choices for year 6 through year 9 vets.

The basic concept of the bulk order system is that players who interact with certain crafting-based NPC shopkeepers will, on random occasions, be offered the opportunity to fulfill "bulk order deeds" (also known as "BODs").   Holiday Gifts Dec 21 2001 1:10PM CST  
Characters that are older than 30 days (real days, not UO days) will be given a holiday ticket in their backpacks upon logging into UO. This holiday ticket will only work for the character who received it originally.

Double-clicking this holiday gift ticket will bring up a menu that will allow players to choose one item per character. The chosen item will then be placed in the character’s backpack once the selection is made. All items are “blessed” (no loot/no steal), which means they cannot be looted or stolen, for a long as they remain in the top level of your backpack (and not in any sub-pack).
